Bilt is coming back with another Rent Day promotion … and it's a good one for travelers with a stash of Bilt points and a case of wanderlust. Come this Sunday, Sept 1, Bilt Rewards will offer a one-day-only transfer bonuses to both Avianca LifeMiles and Virgin Atlantic – as well as BOGO promotions from Virgin Voyages and ResortPass.

But the headliner for this month's Rent Day promotion is a 50% transfer bonus for all members transferring points to Avianca LifeMiles. Meanwhile, the Virgin bonus is tiered: Top Bilt elite members get up to 100% more points when transferring to Virgin. Here's how it shakes out:

  • Blue (basic members): Get a 20% bonus on transfers to Virgin Atlantic
  • Silver: Get a 40% bonus on transfers to Virgin Atlantic
  • Gold: Get a 60% bonus on transfers to Virgin Atlantic
  • Platinum: Get a 100% bonus on transfers to Virgin Atlantic

Think of these transfer bonuses as a way to get free points and miles: You won't have to transfer as many points as you normally would to book an award flight through Avianca LifeMiles or Virgin Atlantic.

If you're an everyday Blue member, you'll need to transfer a minimum of 2,000 points to be eligible for either bonus. Just like previous Rent Day promotions, you'll need to act fast: These bonuses are only available Sunday, Sept. 1!

Here's everything you need to know about this month's Rent Day promo.

50% Transfer Bonus to LifeMiles

If you've got a stash of Bilt points, any of these transfer bonuses provide an easy path to multiply your Bilt points. Let's start with Avianca LifeMiles

Despite a recent devaluation that made many of our favorite sweet spots a little more sour, Avianca LifeMiles is still a great program for booking Star Alliance awards to Europe on airlines like United, SWISS, and TAP Air Portugal. In fact, a handful of routes actually got cheaper – and a 50% bonus makes them even better.

Take this business class flight from Newark (EWR) to London-Heathrow (LHR), for example. It once cost a flat 63,000 miles each way … but you can now book this one-way business class fare for just 45,000 LifeMiles and less than $28 in taxes and fees.

If you're short on points, you can take the same flight in economy for just 22,500 LifeMiles each way. With a 50% transfer bonus, you'd only need 15,000 Bilt points to make it happen.

If you prefer to stay closer to home, LifeMiles is a solid option for booking domestic United flights as well. With flights starting as low as 6,500 miles one-way, you could book a flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to Chicago (ORD). With this bonus, you'd only need to transfer 5,000 Bilt points to make it happen.

Up to 100% Bonus Transferring to Virgin

There's a lot to love about a bonus of up to 100% when transferring Bilt points to Virgin Atlantic.

With Virgin Atlantic, you'll often find short domestic flights on Delta for much less than what the airline is charging in SkyMiles. Thanks to Virgin's distance-based award chart, Delta flights under 500 miles in distance are only 7,500 Virgin points one-way. Even if you're going a little further, it’s only 8,500 points each way for flights between 501 and 1,000 miles. Factoring in Bilt's minimum 20% transfer bonus for Blue members, you can easily have a quick weekend getaway for fewer than 13,000 Bilt points roundtrip.

Or if you're looking for something a little flashier,  ANA's new “The Room” business class suites flying between the states and Tokyo can be booked through Virgin for just 52,500 points one-way from the West Coast or 60,000 points from cities like Chicago-O’Hare (ORD) and New York City (JFK).

That means if you've got Bilt's top-tier Platinum status, you could use this month's 100% transfer bonus to fly to Japan in lie-flat comfort for just 27,000 Bilt points one-way.

Even with the lowest, everyday Blue status, you'd be able to book this seat for as few as 44,000 Bilt points with a 20% transfer bonus. That's worth it for the outstanding Japanese sushi and sake alone.

Other Rent Day Promotions

If big transfer bonuses aren't your thing, Bilt has even more travel deals in store this month.

For the second month in a row, Bilt members will be able to participate in a “Buy One Sailor, Get Second Sailor 100% Off” offer when booking an eligible Virgin Voyage. All eligible cruises and cabins will be available on a Virgin Voyages landing page accessed through the Bilt Rewards app and need to be booked between now and Sept. 2 at 3 a.m. ET.

Additionally, if you use the Bilt Access Key “VVBILT” when booking, you'll get some extra onboard perks:

  • Unlimited premium Wi-Fi
  • Two specialty coffees per day
  • A $100 bar tab credit
  • Access to an exclusive cocktail event
  • Complimentary laundry
  • Priority boarding at embarkation

Bilt's recent partnership with ResortPass brings another BOGO opportunity to this month's Rent Day festivities. Bilt Members who book on Sept. 1, will be able to bring a friend along for free to a day at the pool or spa at over 1,600 ResortPass properties. If you're unfamiliar with ResortPass, it's a company that sells daily access to pools and spas at luxury hotels, with access starting at just $25.

Bilt members can select the property they are interested in via the Rent Day experience in the Bilt app or website. From there, members will be sent to the specific property they want to book and a coupon code will be automatically applied at checkout.

Other Rent Day staples like Bilt's “Rent Free” game show is making a comeback as well. Each month Bilt brings on a well-known individual to play its Family Feud-esque game show and determine how much free rent will be paid.

This month's guest is Barstool Sports Founder, podcaster, and influencer Dave Portnoy. You can play Rent Free right now.

Finally, Rent Day Rides is returning for another month. Bilt members can reserve a complimentary bike at one of the more than 50 SoulCycle locations around the country. One lucky rider at all the studios participating in Rent Day Rides will even win a free month of rent, courtesy of Bilt.

Earn Double Points on Rent Day

There's another thing to keep in mind on Rent Day: You'll earn double the points (up to 10,000 bonus points) for every non-rent dollar spent on your *bilt rewards card* on the first of the month.

This is the last month to really take advantage of the double-point-earning on Rent Day as Bilt is capping the amount of points you can earn at just 1,000 starting Oct. 1.

So long as you make at least five purchases each statement cycle, you'll earn points at the following rates on Rent Day:

  • 6x Bilt points on dining (usually 3x)
  • 4x Bilt points on travel (usually 2x)
  • 2x Bilt points on other spend (usually 1x)

This is all in addition to the 1x Bilt points you earn on rent payments with the Bilt Mastercard.

How to Use Bilt Rewards Points

Just because the points can be fairly difficult to earn doesn't mean they aren't useful – just the opposite. There are many ways to use Bilt points. And once you've got them, they're some of the most valuable points in the world of travel.

The easiest way to use them is to book through the Bilt Rewards travel portal, where each point will be worth 1.25 cents apiece. That means 10,000 Bilt points are worth $125 toward travel.

But you'll get the best value for your Bilt points by transferring points to one of its 14 travel partners, including World of Hyatt, Alaska Airlines, Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles, United Mileage Plus, and British Airways Avios, among many others.

Just keep in mind that unless you've earned Bilt status, you'll need to transfer a minimum of 2,000 points to get started.

If you prefer to use your points for something other than travel, Bilt recently introduced the ability to “cash out” Bilt Rewards points  (at a rate of .55 cents per point) by applying them as a statement credit to the outstanding balance on your Bilt Rewards Card. At approximately a half-cent per point, redeeming them this way represents poor value and should really only be done as a last resort.

Prior Rent Day Promotions

Over the months, Bilt has done a good job leveraging its partners to come up with some really creative (and often incredibly lucrative) promotions. While not every month's promo is a home run for travelers, the majority of Bilt's Rent Day promos do a good job engaging members on a day that's otherwise un-celebrated.

Here's a look back at some of the other Rent Day promotions from the past year:

Prior Rent Day Promotions
August 2024Virgin Voyages: Second guest sails free
July 2024Up to 100% transfer bonus to Alaska Airlines

April 2024BOGO fitness class credit and free fitness experiences
March 20241,000 Bilt points per new linked card

December 20232x points on holiday shopping

October 2023Bilt Experiences: NFL Suite & Game Tickets from 2.5K Bilt Points
September 2023Free SoulCycle Rides
August 2023Up to 150% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic

Most of Bilt's Rent Day promotions are centered on travel and even the ones that aren't are still valuable for most Bilt Rewards members. Looking at prior Rent Day promos, you have to wonder how Bilt can continue to raise the bar month after month.

Bottom Line

Bilt Rewards' Rent Day promo for September is a good one for travelers. On Sunday, Sept 1 – and only Sept. 1 – you can get 50% more points when transferring to Avianca LifeMiles – and up to 100% more points when transferring to Virgin Atlantic, depending on your Bilt status. Add in a BOGO cruise offer from Virgin Voyages and it's an all-around great Rent Day for travelers.

If you've got a *Bilt Mastercard* in your wallet, you'll earn even more when you spend on the first of the month.
