Earning points as normal when you stay at a Hilton – or not earning points at all? You're doing it wrong: Hilton almost always has an ongoing promotion to earn bonus points on hotel stays. And its upcoming promo is an easy one to earn some extra points on Hilton stays through the end of the year.
Hilton Honors just unveiled its new Power Up promotion to earn 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors points for each and every Hilton stay (including award stays initially booked with points) from Sept. 3 through Dec. 31, 2024. And there's no limit to how many bonus points you can earn with this new promotion.
Whether you've already got a Hilton stay lined up for this fall or not, it's worth registering for this promo to make sure you earn as many points as possible. Do it now before you forget!
These bonus points helps offset Hilton's fairly lackluster points program, as Hilton's unpredictable and often sky-high award rates mean cashing in your Hilton Honors won't get you as far as other hotel programs.
Previous Hilton promos would give you double (and sometimes even triple) the points for hotel stays, so this new Power Up promotion isn't their best. But why not register and earn 2,500 extra points for each stay – especially when even award stays booked with Hilton Honors points (or Hilton free night certificates) qualify?
One note: That's 2,500 points per stay – not per night. So whether you book one night at a Hilton Garden Inn or a five-night stay at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui, you'd still earn just 2,500 bonus points.
But again, there's no limit to how many bonus points you can earn through this promotion! The only requirement is that you must check out by Dec. 31 or earlier in order to earn these points.
So whether you've already got an upcoming Hilton stay booked through the end of the year or not, it's a no-brainer to register since you won't earn these bonus points if you don't sign up for the promo beforehand. Hilton stays you've already booked will still earn this bonus so long as you register before your trip.
How this Hilton Honors Promo Adds Up
Let's put this Hilton Honors promo in action with a handful of examples to show you just how much this promo can help you pile up some extra Hilton Honors points.
Let's say you're just an everyday Hilton Honors member with a two-night stay at the LondonHouse Chicago, paying about $450 a night for a weekend visit in October. If you don't register for this promo, you'd earn 9,000 Hilton Honors points since you earn a flat 10x points per dollar.
So as long as you register for this promo before your stay (but not necessarily before you book) and use a digital key through the Hilton app at some point during your trip, that same stay would earn:

On that same two-night stay in Chicago, you would earn:
- Base points: 10 points per dollar X $450 X 2 nights = 9,000 Hilton Honors Points
- Status bonus: 8 bonus points per dollar X $450 X 2 nights = 7,200 Hilton Honors Points
- 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors Points
- 18,700 points total
But the best is reserved for top-tier Hilton members who pay with a Hilton co-branded credit card, as that earns even more points for every buck you spend. So booking that same Chicago hotel using a Hilton Honors Aspire Card – which also unlocks instant Hilton Diamond Status – you would earn:
- Base points: 10 points per dollar X $450 X 2 nights = 9,000 Hilton Honors Points
- Status bonus: 10 bonus points per dollar X $450 X 2 nights = 9,000 Hilton Honors Points
- Credit card bonus: 14 points per dollar X $450 X 2 nights = 12,600 Hilton Honors Points
- 2,500 bonus Hilton Honors Points
- 33,100 points total
At the top end, you're earning almost 37 Hilton Honors points per dollar by stacking this promotion with all the other ways to pile up points faster. But no matter how far you can get, it's still worth registering to earn some extra Hilton points this fall and through the end of the year
