Yet Another Travel Card is Cutting Priority Pass Restaurant Credits

Grabbing a free meal at a select Priority Pass airport restaurants thanks to your travel credit card is a great perk. But with another card losing that benefit, it's rapidly approaching extinction.

New applicants for the *venture x business* will no longer receive credits for Priority Pass restaurants – nor for participating cafes or markets in Priority Pass, MilesTalk first reported. It's part of the card's changeover from Mastercard to Visa last month. It's unclear how much longer longtime Venture X Business cardholders will continue getting those credits, but new and recent applicants are officially out.

Are we surprised? Hardly.

Capital One had chopped this perk on the personal *venture x* more than a year ago, so it was just a matter of time before it spread to the business card. Capital One isn't alone.

Just in March, it was announced that top Chase cards like the *chase sapphire reserve* will also lose this benefit come July 1. *amex platinum* was among the first to let it go – it axed that benefit way back in 2019

Priority Pass airport lounge access, however, isn't changing. Venture X Business cardholders can still get into 1,300 lounges across the globe, plus a growing number of Capital One Lounges. And they can still bring two guests each time.

Priority Pass spa locations and Minute Suites are still in for Capital One cardholders. But a free(ish) meal at select participating airports – thanks to a $28 credit for the cardholder and another $28 for a guest – is increasingly out of the question.

Priority Pass Restaurant

Losing any benefits is always painful on a premium travel card that costs $395 a year. But it stings even more because Capital One's flagship business card was one of the few that still offered dining credits at Priority Pass restaurants.

One saving grace for travelers flying in and out of Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP)? None of these cuts affect access to or dining at the PGA MSP Lounge, the airport's only current Priority Pass option. Even though you can receive dining credits once you get inside, it's still technically a lounge – not a Priority Pass restaurant.

But this latest cut leaves precious few options for travelers to cover a meal at Priority Pass restaurants.

Citi's top Citi Prestige Credit Card still offers that benefit … but that's also no longer open for applications. And so do the little-known Bank of America® Premium Rewards® Elite Credit Card, and the UBS Visa Infinite Credit Card, but that might be the only reason travelers even glance at those cards – if they've even heard of them.

Scan that list and see that the number of cards that include this benefit is shrinking.
