If you're staring down $400 roundtrip fares to Florida or Arizona this winter, look overseas: That same amount of money can get you to Europe instead.

Yes, really! In the past few weeks, we've found tons of fares to destinations like Ireland, Portugal, Amsterdam, Paris and beyond in the $300s roundtrip for a trip this spring or fall. In some cases – gasp! – those fares even dip into the $200s!

It's been a consistent trend of the cheapest fares to cross the pond we've ever seen. You'll miss the peak season crowds of Europe's busy summers, enjoy off-peak prices, and take advantage of the dollar's excellent exchange rate against the euro.

So save money on your next big trip by looking across the Atlantic instead of within the U.S. That's what our Thrifty Traveler Premium subscribers are learning right now, thanks to these sizzling flight deals.

Check out just how cheap it can get.

Mistake Fare to Amsterdam, London, or Paris

Most of the best flight deals happen because of good old supply and demand. When there's not enough demand on a flight where supply is too high, you're going to see the lowest possible fares.

Another good way to find cheap fares? When the airlines forget to add hundreds of dollars worth of fees on the fare…

A mistake fare from Boston to Paris nonstop on JetBlue for $218

It's called a mistake fare, and it's an exhilarating moment when you find one like we did a few weeks ago on these roundtrip flights to Europe on JetBlue.

JetBlue messed up big time here, offering these crazy bargain fares for a limited time.

If you want to fly to Europe from $218, you're pretty much going to have to hope the airlines mess up. And when they do, we'll alert all of our Thrifty Traveler Premium members ASAP!

Delta to Iceland in the $300s RT

Icelandair is usually the driving force behind the cheapest flights to Iceland, but Delta is always sneakily right behind the Icelandic airline. Recently, though, Delta has surged ahead, offering some of the cheapest fares we've ever seen to Iceland in the $300s roundtrip.

As you can see, it's not just the nonstops that get in on the good fares, either. From Florida to Pennsylvania, and even Missouri and Indiana, you could book one-stop connections on Delta to Reykjavik (KEF) for unthinkable lows.

These fares all connect through New York (JFK), which was home to the cheapest of these fares at just $309 roundtrip.

Just a few days before, we found these fares in the $300s from Detroit (DTW), too. And best of all, these were flexible Main Cabin fares that included seat selection and the ability to change or cancel for an ecredit!

Nonstop to Ireland under $399 RT

Ireland's flag carrier Aer Lingus loves to put on a big sale. The airline is good at it, too. Considering they fly nonstop to more than a dozen destinations all over the U.S. and Canada, these sales could end up in your backyard no matter where you live.

Aer Lingus airfare for $308 roundtrip from Toronto to Dublin.

Travelers in Toronto (YYZ) got the best of this latest sale, but as you can see, several cities were close behind to get you to the Emerald Isle in 2025!

Spain or Portugal in the $300s RT

The Iberian Peninsula has long been home to some of the cheapest flights we find, and a few stellar fares below $400 roundtrip have solidified that trend of late.

Lisbon Portugal flight deal under $593 roundtrip.

This flight deal alert we sent for fares to Portugal included more than 100 U.S. and Canadian cities with fares below $600 roundtrip, but only a few lucky winners got to see the lowest fares starting at $374 roundtrip.

Vancouver to Lisbon airfare for $374 roundtrip.

Our West Coast friends in Vancouver (YVR) got to book that outstanding rate – which is just the luck of the draw, just like it was for travelers in Boston (BOS) who were able to book these nonstop flights to Barcelona (BCN) for just $335 roundtrip!

Like the Portugal deal, this Spain deal had dozens more airports at slightly higher rates. All of the fares on this flight deal alert were under $483 roundtrip, though – still an absolute steal for a flight to Europe and back.

The Faroe Islands, Too!

One of the remotest island chains on earth isn't as inaccessible as you think!

The Faroe Islands have been the object of my and many other travelers' eyes over the last few years as the nation opened to tourists in earnest. The Faroes are like the new Iceland – on the precipice of becoming the next big destination, but without all the crowds yet.

With fares like these, though, that won't last long…

Chicago to Faroe Islands

This flight deal included other fares in the $400s roundtrip, but Chicago-O'Hare (ORD) travelers were able to secure the best of the fares at just $358 roundtrip!

Faroe Islands flight deal under $482 roundtrip.

Bottom Line

Flights to Europe don't have to be expensive. In fact, they don't have to cost more than a trip to Florida this winter.

You'd be surprised how inexpensive it might be to fly to Europe this year or next, with several routes coming in under $399 roundtrip!
